I have been to Akesu, a cotton producing area in Xinjiang, China. The annual output of cotton accounts for 1/3 and 1/9 in China. This is the largest commercial cotton production base in China. The rise and fall of cotton is very important for Akesu, the 130 thousand square kilometers of Southern Xinjiang.

But faced with the current cotton situation, what Akesu needs to do now is to resolutely put prescriptions on the quality problems of "poor uniformity and poor spinnability" in cotton.

To take this road, we must follow closely two "guides": one is to use the "medium and high end quality" to lead the development of the cotton industry; the other is to push the cotton quality towards the middle and high end with the structural reform of the supply side; the other is to use the "three pformation", that is, to simplify the modernization, mechanization and organization, and to lead the development of the modern cotton growing industry.

Thus, under the new pattern, the cotton industry needs to uplift the spirit, face difficulties directly, and strive to explore the way to adapt to the new normal.
