Vietnam'S Clothing And Footwear Exports Surged In The First 4 Months

According to the Dau Tu newspaper, the export volume of clothing and footwear in Vietnam is expected to reach US $3 billion 960 million in the first 4 months of 2008, up 21.3% from the same period last year. The export volume of textiles and garments was 2 billion 600 million US dollars, up 24.5% from the same period last year. The export volume of footwear can be estimated at US $1 billion 360 million and grow by 15.7%. The target of Vietnam's clothing exports increased from $7 billion 780 million last year to US $9 billion 500 million this year, and the target of footwear export volume grew by 15.4% to US $4 billion 500 million.
