UNIQLO Tokyo Ginza Asia Expansion


As part of the expansion plan in Asia, Uniqlo, the Japanese fashion designer chain corporation, is located on the 12 floor of Tokyo, the largest store in March 16th. Ginza The area caused a sensation.


"Opening a flagship store in this area is the first step in extending business from here to Asia." Liu Jing, executive director of UNIQLO, said on the busy ChuoDori street in the area when it opened.


He said: "Ginza is located in Japan's strategic location and is the best business district in Asia. This is Japan's largest access to the global market."


   Uniqlo The fast selling group of its parent company started in 1949 from a small menswear store in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, and grew up to be one of the most successful companies in Japan.


Fast fashion brand UNIQLO has turned its attention to fast-growing Asia and opened stores in Shanghai, Taipei and Seoul after opening large stores in many major cities around the world, such as New York, London and Paris.


Ryui Masa plans to open 100 new stores across the Asian continent by August this year. He said: "we want to open our store in all major cities in Asia."


Ryui Masa said: "Japan is bogged down in the stalemate of the aging population, and the low birth rate and politics are also deadlocked. But seeing Japan as a part of Asia and a part of the world, I am very excited about this huge potential market.


The flagship store of Ginza is the largest store in the world, and its sales staff can serve customers in 5 countries, including English, Chinese, Korean, French and Spanish.


All along, Ginza is a high-end fashion commodity center in Japan, with brands such as LV and Hermes. The price tags and rents in the region are matched with these brands.


But the global "fast fashion" and leisure products retailers. H&M Zara, Forever21 and Gap have opened stores in ChuoDori in recent years.


Japanese government records show that the price of land in the region was almost $20 million a square meter a year ago. I don't know that UNIQLO spends a lot of money on its 5000 square meter retail shop, but the floor is dwarfed by the opposite Zara store.


However, the flagship store is much smaller than the 36 thousand square meters of San Yue Department store.


Ryui Masa said the new large store is expected to earn 10 billion yen a year later.


More than 300 consumers queued up at the Ginza store's formal opening, hoping to become the first person to go to UNIQLO's largest store in the world.


A consumer said, "I want to see that store. For a long time, the image of Ginza is a place suitable for sophisticated adults, so we hardly shop here, but this impression is changing, and Ginza has become more approachable.
