Supplement:

In July 6, 2010, the European Commission issued the decision 2010/376/EU, which stipulates the safety requirements of 5 kinds of products related to children's sleep, such as baby mattress, bed circumference, infant hammock, children's down quilt and child sleeping bags.

For children under 5 years of age, more than half of their life and pleasure are spent in the sleeping environment, so the safety of such products is very important.

According to statistics from the European Union RAPEX and the US CPSC, the number of deaths caused by products such as cribs and children sleeping bags is far more than that of other child care products.

At present, in the European Union, the 5 products should comply with the regulations of 2001/95/EC general product safety directive (GPSD), but GPSD only stipulates some principles of safety requirements, and does not involve specific technical indicators.

Therefore, the EU is aware of the need to set up the coordination standards for the above 5 products, and the current standard setting work has been put on the agenda.

However, the safety of these 5 products should also be ensured by effective means before the formal issuance of the coordination standards. This is the purpose of the EU's release of the 2010/376/EU.

The appendix of the decision specifies the safety requirements for the 5 products to be met, and has been implemented since July 26, 2010.

The main risks of various products are as follows: the corresponding safety requirements are:

Baby mattress: clip and Flammability;

Bed circumference: Le injury, asphyxia;

Hammock: structural damage and instability;

Children's down quilt: suffocation and overheating;

Sleeping bag for children: asphyxia of small part and injury of bag.
