At the Expo held on the same day, Wenzhou enterprises concentrated on displaying Wenzhou products such as shoes, bags, glasses, lighters, craft gifts, auto and motorcycle accessories in the exhibition area of 15000 square meters. The exhibition attracted 3000 ASEAN professional merchants and purchasers from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.

Zheng Zhisheng, the chairman of the Rounan SME Association in Johor, who has visited Wenzhou for four times, wears Wenzhou products from glasses to leather shoes. He said, "Wenzhou products are exquisite and of good quality, which is very suitable for the Malaysian market." Chen Guohuang, an executive member of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, brought more than 260 local purchasers. In his opinion, after the launch of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area, Wenzhou products ushered in unprecedented opportunities to enter the ASEAN market.

The huge market potential and the enthusiasm of purchasers have made many Wenzhou enterprises participating in the exhibition quite fruitful. Zhejiang Cowboy Beer Co., Ltd. received orders for 1.5 million cases of beer from Singaporean businessmen more than half an hour after the opening ceremony; Li Jinghe, the chairman of Zhejiang Yalong Sticker Printing Co., Ltd. from Longgang, Cangnan, said that the information brought was not enough. The questions asked by the visitors were very professional. On the first day, the company received an order of more than 200000 dollars.

Zhejiang Enterprises Fully Exploit ASEAN Market

The China ASEAN Free Trade Area is the first free trade area established by China. Its members include China and ten ASEAN countries, covering a population of 1.9 billion, a trade volume of 4.5 trillion US dollars, and more than 7000 products enjoy zero tariffs.

Zhejiang enterprises looking at the China ASEAN market are not only in Wenzhou.

Haiyan is a well-known fastener production center in China. Liu Haiwei, head of Haiyan Haiwen Hardware&Electrical Co., Ltd., said that at present, the company's salesmen have moved to the Philippines and Malaysia, and it is expected that the export volume to ASEAN this year will be at least five times higher than last year. This year, Zhejiang New Oriental Fasteners Co., Ltd. listed ASEAN as one of the key emerging markets to explore. Chairman Chen Zhengliang personally went to Thailand, Cambodia and other countries to investigate, and had a preliminary understanding of the local industry.

In Yiwu, 18 enterprises including Huahong Holding, Honest Belt Making, Julong Luggage and Luggage participated in the "Malaysia China Import and Export Commodity Exhibition and Investment Fair" hosted by the Ministry of Commerce this year to expand the ASEAN trade platform.

In Jinhua, from January to March this year, the Jinhua Entry Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau issued 711 certificates of origin of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area for export enterprises, amounting to 19.42 million US dollars, up 159% and 146% respectively year on year. ASEAN has now become Jinhua's third largest trading partner.
