The recession has led to a decline in luxury goods sales, but according to the data released by American Express Co, luxury goods sold on the Internet are not the same.


Sales of luxury goods sold online in 2009 only increased by 87% compared with the same period in 2008, compared with 20% of overall luxury goods sales.

Luxury goods sold on the Internet are mainly targeted at wealthy consumers and business travelers.

Online sales and store sales also increased by 0.7%.

Compared with the same period in 2008, luxury consumption began to stabilize from the second half of 2009. Sales in the first quarter of 2010 increased steadily. The most powerful regions were India and Brazil.

According to the report of American Express Co, North America grew by 20%.


The survey was conducted by holders of 90 million American Express, who spent $111 billion on luxury goods in 2009.

It also surveyed more than 700 luxury brands in the world.


American Express Co this survey of luxury e-commerce websites is basically similar to the results of other reports.

Master Card global Spending Pulse report shows that luxury online and offline consumption increased by 22.7% in March compared with last year.

Experian Hitwise reported that as of April 10th, online sales of 54 luxury goods and designer brands increased by 28% over the same period last year.
