France Auchan Group To Accelerate The Expansion Of Foreign Markets, Targeting Asia
According to the French textile daily reported recently, in the face of the economic and financial crisis, Auchan group has made efforts to take measures to carry out business adjustment. As a result of strengthening the development of foreign markets, the total turnover of super supermarkets last year remained stable, reaching 39 billion 700 million euros, an increase of 0.5% over the same period last year. The group has 515 super large supermarkets in 13 countries and 115 in France, covering an area of 11000 square meters. Last year, its business performance increased by 12.9% in Central European countries (including Hungary, China, Russia and China) and Asia (China and the region), while in Western Europe (France, West, Italy, Portugal and Portugal) fell by 2.8%. Last year, its first international operating income slightly exceeded the group's total revenue of more than 50%, France accounted for 47% of the revenue. The group has 739 supermarkets in the world. Last year, its sales volume was 6 billion 600 million euros, down 3.2% from a year ago due to weak consumption and falling prices.
It is obvious that Auchan group takes export as priority. Last year, the group achieved a 62% investment. Compared with 2008, it reduced by 1/4 (27.8%), its financial liabilities dropped 2 percentage points, and its own capital accounted for 37%. Christophe Dubrulle, President of Auchan group, said that in 2010, the group will strengthen the steady development of the predetermined target and the strategic choice of the group. This year, the level of investment will be maintained last year, so as to continue to develop and prepare for the opening of 60 new super large supermarkets and more than 20 commercial centers.
